Leader: Estelita Mafe

This community Group is a chance for the members of the Filipinos Community here at Central to connect with God and each other.

Spring Topic: What Happens Next?
Are we living in the end times? If we are . . . what does that mean for us?
These questions can cause confusion and anxiety in the hearts of anyone, including Christians.

We invite you to join us as we discover that God wants us to be prepared, not scared; informed, not intimidated! We will walk together through Max Lucado’s six-session video series that will provide us with a solid foundation for understanding God’s eternal plan and we’ll learn about events you may have heard of, such as the rapture and the tribulation. Ultimately, the end of our story is all about hope and all about Jesus!

This is an online group facilitated by Noel and Estelita Mafe.

TOPIC: The Power of Jesus’ Names
Some names live in infamy, and some names inspire the greatest kinds of hope. But there is one name above all other names, and it belongs to the Son of God, Jesus. Jesus is the most unique person who’s ever lived, and his names carry with them great weight.

In this series, Dr. Tony Evans journeys around the stomping grounds of Jesus in the land of Israel and presents a complete picture of the Incarnate God. By teaching on each of the major names of Jesus, Tony brings us face-to-face with the Second Person of the Trinity. Shot in the major locations where Jesus himself lived and taught, we find ourselves asking one question: “What will we do with Jesus?”

Religion offers people particular ways of relating with God, but are we approaching him with the right perspective? To what extent do fear and a desire for control skew our attitude toward God? Join author Skye Jethani in this five-session study as he explores four popular but flawed postures—Life Under God, Over God, From God, and For God—then offers a more freeing and hopeful option for relating with the God who loves us. What does Life With God look like?

May 14-June 11 “Undistracted” by Bob Goff
Has anyone ever told you…You have permission to eliminate distractions! You have permission to live a more fulfilling life!

Distractions cause more harm than you might think. And they’re all around us, all the time. They can disrupt our focus on what really matters, interfere with our true priorities, and divert our attention from the God who created us for his good purpose.
• Identify the distractions in your life
• Eliminate them so that you can recharge and refocus on your God-given purpose
• Start living a less-distracted and more joy-filled and love-oriented life

Distractions can get you stuck in the past, worried about the present, and frazzled by any future you could possibly fret over. It’s time to discover how to get undistracted in all aspects of your life.

Topic: Identify Spiritual Warfare and Learn How to Defeat the Enemy
There is an Enemy among us. You may know who he is, but you may not know what he is about. Do you know how he wages war? Do you know how he targets you specifically? He’s the villain who wants to change your story in the hopes you live isolated, powerless, discouraged, and defeated.

Are you ready to change your narrative and live a different story today? If you’re weary from the struggle and ready to experience life as God intended, this five-session series with Jonathan Pokluda will help you explore the tactics of Satan, equip you to overcome spiritual battles, and remind you of the victory already secured through Jesus.

55+ Dance and Fitness Group
Leader: Pat Markham

Our Senior Exercise and Line Dance Group offers a fun and engaging way for older adults to stay active. These sessions combine gentle, low-impact exercises and stretching with easy-to-follow line dances, designed to improve balance, coordination, and flexibility. Regular movement and stretching help increase brain function, improve mobility, reduce stiffness, and support joint health, all while boosting energy levels and improving mood. Whether you’re a seasoned dancer or trying something new, the supportive environment ensures that everyone feels comfortable and confident. The group is more than just a workout—it’s an opportunity to stay active, maintain physical health, and connect with others in a relaxed, enjoyable atmosphere. ** There will be a small fee for this group.** Thursdays, Weekly | Jan 16 – Jun 19 (no meeting march break) | 2:45 – 3:45p | Location: Central

Assembling Hygiene Kits for Women Globally
Leader: Linda Enns

Every year, women, girls and people with periods go without quality, accurate and safe menstrual health education. Without it, stigma, shame and taboos persist, often holding women and girls back from attending school and going to work.

Our group from around the community gathers monthly to cut, iron and sew menstrual hygiene kits to be distributed to girls and women around the world. Come join us!

No sewing skills required but serving heart is great. If you have sewing machine or serger, please do bring that along as well as sewing scissors, cutting mats and blades and rulers are helpful.

Friends and even your teenagers who are willing to work are welcome to join us. It is a night that is so great for the heart and soul as we create something to support others who do not have.

The Business and Professionals Group is a Group of Christians who gather to exemplify the principles of iron sharpens iron, encourage and build each other up, and practice love for neighbour.

We believe that our jobs, careers, and professions are not just opportunities to deliver on these principles but also to promote the values taught in the Bible as beneficial business and work ethics.

Individually, corporately, and as members of a church, we are still bound to make mistakes and hurt each other. But at the end of the day, God’s love and the teachings of Jesus Christ will give us the wisdom and the grace to make things right.

Religion offers people particular ways of relating with God, but are we approaching him with the right perspective? To what extent do fear and a desire for control skew our attitude toward God?
